All statesHow a referral to an infusion center works
- Your prescriber orders the drug. The order names the drug, dose and schedule.
- The office sends the order and clinical notes to a center. Call the center for its current checklist and referral forms.
- The center checks your benefits and prior authorization, then calls you to schedule.
- You arrive for your infusion. Bring your insurance card, medication list and any labs your prescriber requested.
Questions
How do I find an infusion center that takes my insurance?
Enter your drug, zip code and plan above. Listings that have completed verification show the plans they accept. For listings still pending verification, call the center to confirm coverage before your first visit.
Is DirectoryRX free?
Yes. Searching is free for patients, caregivers and physicians’ offices. Infusion centers can list for free; some pay a flat fee for a labeled, sponsored placement.
What does “verified” mean?
A verified listing has been confirmed with the center by our team: therapies administered, plans accepted, hours and how to refer, with the date shown on the listing. Other listings come from the CMS NPPES public registry and are marked “verification pending.”
What is the difference between an infusion center and home infusion?
An infusion center is a clinic where nurses give your infusion in a chair or suite. Home infusion providers send a nurse and supplies to your home. Use the result filters to switch between them.
Do I need a referral or a prescription?
Yes. Infusions are given under a prescriber’s order. Your doctor’s office sends the order and clinical notes to the center, and the center checks your benefits and schedules you.
What if I don’t have a prescriber yet?
Ask your usual healthcare provider which specialist to see. DirectoryRX does not diagnose conditions or prescribe treatment.
How are sponsored listings chosen?
Sponsors pay a flat advertising fee. Sponsored listings are labeled, appear only when they match your search, and never change the order of other results. See disclosures.
